Description
This article considers the knowledge of the truth in the novel of the American classic of the XX century Thornton Wilder. From our point of view, one of the ways of an implementation is the existential form of a rhetorical question. They were asked by all characters of the novel and for some of these questions the archetype of the searcher which was formed in the Medieval legends is guessed. Findings of this article offer to put the question about the nature of the genre of Th. Wilder’s novels in a new way
