Description
The article presents the problem of the terms and professionalisms differentiation and defines the place of the sports names in the special vocabulary cluster. It is proved that sports nominations possess such basic features of terms as definitiveness and systemacity. However, sports terminology is specific, due to polysemy development, attraction of words from other semantic areas and active entry of sports names into the common-literary language
