ANALYSIS OF SPATIAL STRUCTURE AND CONDITION OF STANDS IN “YAMKA” PARK OF PETROZVODSK
06.00.00 Agricultural sciences
DescriptionThe article presents the results of the evaluation of the spatial structure and condition of trees and shrubs in different types of park stands located in the park called “Yamka” in Petrozavodsk. Features of planning and spatial distribution of trees and shrubs have been identified. The species and number of plants in good, satisfactory and unsatisfactory states were determined. The conducted analysis of species distribution and the number of trees and shrubs in each category of state allows suggesting the activities for reconstruction of park stands

APPROBATION OF THE SUBSTANTIATION METHODS OF THE INTERNATIONAL TIMBER TRANSPORTATION PROCESS
DescriptionModern small logging enterprises exporting timber primarily by lorry transport do not have resources for implementing research that contributes to reducing the cost of this type of transport. Besides, there is no universal and accessible planning methodology and operative decision-making in the organization of timber export by lorry transport. Because of this, the author of the article has proposed a methodology for improving international timber transportation by timber trucks. This methodology contains logging modeling simulation, as well as analysis and contain of different options of logging. Within the framework of this methodology, a unique model based on the discrete event simulation has been developed. This model simulates a full cycle of timber transportation from the terminal to several foreign consumers. The working capacity of the model was verified by simulating several export scenarios based on data obtained during field study at one of the logging enterprises, the annual logging volume of which is 400 thousand cubic meters. The analysis and comparison of the modeling results have confirmed the possibility of using this methodology in planning and organizing international timber transportation for small logging enterprises

ASSESSMENT OF THE GREENERY CONDITION AND VOLUME-SPATIAL STRUCTURE OF PETROVSKII PARK OF PETROZAVODSK
DescriptionThe article covers the results of the greenery inventory and landscape-planning structure analysis of Petrovskii park of Petrozavodsk. The features of modern park planning and positional application of trees and shrubs in various types of park and garden stands are described. In the park there were found 47 species of arboreal plants, their distribution by quantity and by different categories of viability was presented. The result of the trees and shrubs condition assessment in this park stated that 63,6% of plants are in good condition, 33,2% of arboreal plants are weakened and seriously weakened, and 3,2% are in unsatisfactory condition and appear to be shrinkable and dead standing. The analysis of the park structure and stand condition allows to offer plant renovation activities

06.00.00 Agricultural sciences
DescriptionТhe results of the evaluation of the condition of trees and shrubs in various types of park and garden stands located on the territory of several educational buildings of Petrozavodsk state university are presented in the article. The details of the planning of sites and the spatial location of trees and shrubs are displayed. The species composition and the distribution of plants according to the categories of viability are identified. The 3D computer models of the studied territories with inventory results are created. The analysis of the plantation allows us to offer projects on formation of the landscape planning structure of the university campus of PetrSU

DescriptionPetrovsky garden was founded in 1703 and is the most important historical object of landscape architecture in Petrozavodsk. Tikhon Balandin made a description and drawing of Petrovsky garden at the beginning of the 19th century. He completed his work by studying and measuring the fragments of the earthen fortress, blast furnace and the location of the destroyed palace, pond and birch garden. On the basis of the historical documents, we created a 3D model of Petrovsky garden using of modern computer-aided design. Threedimensional model of the garden allows viewing the object from different angles, gives an idea about structure and compositions of the garden on a new visual level. Some examples of visualization garden fragments were presented at the article. Now the garden doesn’t have its original structure. The historical garden layout and 3D model of object can be used for reconstruction of Petrovsky garden

Description
The article proposes the updated model of the influence of logs length onto a size of wooden chips produced with the use of a disk chipper. This article focuses on the fact that the length of any of the logs in the process of chipping is reduced. For this reason at the final stage of chipping, any of the logs with a standard initial length of 1.2 m inevitably transform into short logs, for which the conditions of chipping are significantly different from the chipping conditions at the start of chipping. The task of accounting for these changes is reduced to finding a solution of the transcendental equation. The results of numerical simulation indicate a progressing decreasing trend in the bevel angle and increasing in the length of the particles of wood chips with decreasing of logs length. Adequacy of the modeling results confirmed by laboratory tests and production experiment. Measuring linear and angular dimensions of chip real particles showed that the particles of such length may be equal to 7 cm, which is 3.5 times larger than the standard length of 2 cm. The angle of the bevel of the cutting plane of the particle may be 14º, which is approximately three times less of standard value equal 39º- 43º. We also discuss the comparison with the approximate solution, which was published in 2012 year. The article can be useful for specialists of wood-preparatory cycle in the paper industry
