Description
Estimation of blast resistance of rice breeding lines, carrying resistance genes Pi-b, Pi-z and Pi-40 has been done. For phytopatological test isolates of pathogen from Krasnodar territory were used. As the results of the study Pi-40 gene showed maximal resistance to blast isolates. On the other part, rice line, carrying both genes – Pib and Pi-z showed significantly higher level of resistance with compare to standart variety Khazar

DescriptionThe article reviews four variants of laying nurseries of primary branches of seed production of long-grained rice varieties of the Kuban breeding taking into account their biological features, plots area ranges from 0,7 m2 to 1,1 m2 , seeding rate for one family – from 100 pcs./m 2 to 170 pcs./m2 . We have studied traits of long-grained rice varieties of the Kuban breeding - Ivushka, Avstral, Kurazh, affecting the yield and quality of seeds: yield, multiplication factor and fractional composition of seeds depending on laying multiplication nursery of first year progeny. The differences between varieties by the type of tillering, vigor, germination of seeds depending on planting system are shown. Optimal way for laying seed nurseries is found: for long-grained varieties with medium tillering (Kurazh type) – row length – 3,3 m and seeding rate – 120 caryopses/m2 ; for those with intensive tillering (Ivushka type) – row length – 3,8 m and seeding rate - 120 caryopses/m2 . This will allow using mechanical method of sowing using selective cassette seeding-machine in the primary seed production, reducing cost of seed production and increasing efficiency of labor, increasing volume of seed production of long-grained rice varieties in short terms and accelerating their implementation in the Kuban region for import substitution

NEW MEDIUM-RIPENING WATERMELON VARIETY YUBILYAR FOR PRODUCERS IN THE SOUTH OF RUSSIA
DescriptionAt present, the demand of producers and the market determine the model of future varieties. Task for breeders is to develop varieties having a set of economic and biological traits fitting into the model templates. The developed varieties and hybrids should ensure for climatic conditions of the Krasnodar region consistently high yields, better product quality and maximum efficiency of crop industry. As a result of breeding work there was developed a watermelon variety called Yubilyar, belonging to medium-ripening group, having high figures of economically valuable traits. The variety has resistance to unfavorable factors of growing conditions and stable yields. It is suitable for cultivation in rainfed areas and practically does not require protective measures against major diseases prevalent in the southern regions. Fruits are large, of wide elliptical shape, with bright crispy red flesh and a thin crust. Determined by stable fruiting under different weather conditions, friendly yield return, commercial fruits – up to 92%. Potential yield – up to 25 t/ha. Good stored for 40-50 days, suitable for transportation on a long distance. Passed preliminary tests on the fields in the Krasnodar, Rostov regions and the Republic of North Ossetia. According to results of evaluation from producers the variety meets requirements of the market and has a commercial appeal

SCIENTIFIC BASE OF USING COMPLEX MICROFERTILIZERS IN RICE GROWING
06.00.00 Agricultural sciences
DescriptionThis article is a review work where the role of microelements in life of plants is observed and theoretical and practical issues concerning application of complex microfertilizers enhancing productivity, quality of seeds and grain on rice crops are highlighted. The complexions of the metals used as micronutrients, are an effective form of trace elements and means of regulation of the production process of agricultural crops as seed treatment before sowing, and when conducting foliar vegetating plants. Their inclusion in the system of fertilizer rice to balance mineral nutrients necessary for plant life, providing increased productivity, quality seeds and grains

INHERITANCE OF PRODUCTIVITY TRAITS IN RICE HYBRIDS
DescriptionGreat success in increasing rice production, and it has more than doubled, has occurred worldwide thanks to the use of modern high-yielding rice varieties developed by conventional breeding methods. In order to develop a new variety, it is important for the breeder to study the genetic and breeding value of various cultural and wild species - carriers of economically valuable traits, the identification of genes and groups of genes controlling the economically valuable traits, to study the patterns of their inheritance, to establish patterns of interaction between the genotype and the environment, explore the genetic and physiological-biochemical basis of the phenomenon of heterosis, improve methods of intraspecific, complex, stepwise and distant hybridization, to study a phenomenon of a sharp increase in the quantitative characteristics of crop plants, a more powerful growth of hybrids of the first generation compared with the parent individuals. Scientists of the past centuries, such as A.F. Wigman, W.Noden, V.Foke, and many others have been studying the phenomenon of hybrid power, which was first named “heterosis” in 1908 by J. Schell. At present, heterosis is understood as the phenomenon when hybrids of the first generation exceed their parental forms in terms of their biological values and economically valuable traits. The magnitude of heterosis of the first generation hybrids is determined by several methods in terms of percentages to the paternal, to the maternal form, to the average of both parents, and to a better or regionalized standard. By the magnitude of the dominance coefficient, researchers often determine the inheritance of a trait

MOLECULAR-GENETICS BASE OF APPLE SELF-INCOMPATIBILITY
DescriptionEstimation of self-incompatibility allelic diversity in Russian apple varieties was conducted. We have established S-allele gene set for a number of varieties. The most common allele of gene was identified. Alleles frequency data obtained are consistent with those in the world apple germplasm

Description
Industrial horticulture assumes the most effective use of the potential of varieties. One of the key factors determining the yield of garden plantings is the effectiveness of pollination. To obtain the maximum yield, it is necessary to ensure maximum pollination during the flowering period. For this reason, much attention has been paid to the selection of pollinators. Crab-apple forms are promising for use as pollinators, so this work was aimed at identifying the most common alleles of the self-incompatibility gene in the crab-forms using the molecular genetic method of analysis. The object of the study was 29 apple-tree creams and 3 elite selection forms. They carried out the molecular genetic identification of alleles S2 and S10, which are among the most common apple trees in the world gene pool. Allele S2 was identified in 16 samples (14 forms and 2 elite selection forms), while S10 allele in one sample (elite form 12/2-20 (24-28)). Data on the allelic composition of the S gene in the samples studied are of value for the formation of a genetic passport on the compatibility of the studied samples of apple with modern industrial varieties
