SPECIFICITY OF EARLY FRONTIER IN THE CAUCASUS

Description
This article analyzes the early frontier in the Caucasus. In this paper we prove the legality of the use of the concept of "early frontier" for the period of the Russian-Caucasian history. The author, basing on the classic criteria of frontier offered by Turner F.J., compares the main characteristics of early American and Caucasian frontier. During the analysis I allocate the general and specific elements of intercultural communication of this period, which forms the basic mechanisms of frontier community. The article shows how the factor of "intermediate" defines heterotopic, unstable, reversible, transgressionnature of the basic processes and intercultural communication occurring during early frontier. Description
Contemporary linguistics and discoursology regard means of author’s position expression to be an important part of a science. However, it should be stated that this aspect “author’s position expression” in scientific discourse has not been described in details. This article researches different lexical means of author’s position expression, actualized in different types of discourse: scientific science (based on geological texts). According to quantitative and qualitative data analysis of English and Russian texts, means of author’s position expression depend on directly on functional characteristics of the discourse itself and proper usage of them indicates and the cultural background of the author. Comparing English and Russian texts, the following was revealed: Russian authors pertain to (a) be reserve in expressing his/her own opinion; (b) employ impersonal constructions abundantly; (c) resort to the minimum use of those words expressing his/her personal opinion; (d) overload other author’s citations; and (e) use such follow-up lexical means that encourage the reader to understand the author’s conceptions or notions. The English corpus analysis showed that the authors, comparable to the Russian ones, are more explicit in expressing one’s opinions through pronouns, such as “I” and “we». In this case, the author’s position expression is less straightforward and more “shaded”. Due to the well-defined structure of English scientific texts the authors exclude the possible duplication of one’s opinions by expressing the author’s position on the issue discussed in the article both in the explicit and implicit ways

THE NEWEST XENO-LEXIS IN RUSSIAN STUDENT INTERNET DISCOURSE

Description
The modern xeno-olexis function (analyzing foreign words in the modern Russian language in the XX and XXI centuries) in the speech behaviour of a language personality group of a high school student. The study was conducted on the online communication material texts. The group formed the main feature of the high school's student language identity. The basic structural and substantial components of student Internet subdiscourse: temporality, locative, event, problem, authorship. The model of the conceptual field of student Internet sub discourse was nominated the latest (new) xeno-lexis. It highlights the core concept of the field, near, far and extreme periphery. The Initial Internet research corps of sub discourse group linguistic personality of high school students on the lexical level allows the simulation of sub discourse to identify main thematic areas and to structure them on the basis of the conceptual field

COLOR WORDS IN THE LANGUAGE OF ECONOMICS

Description
The article is fulfilled in the frames of modern linguistic studies where the cognitive aspects of language activities are actively studied, concept researches are conducted and is devoted to the study of color words in the design of color picture of the world of different language cultures and their role and function in formation of special language terminology. The authors analyze compound terms and their definitions of a new emerging trend of the economy – green economy, borrowed from the materials of UN organizations and Institute of Green Economy and reveal that the color word green participates in terminology formation due to metaphoric use, as an indirect nomination that gives way to sense increment. Color words bear assessment charge that is realized in terms formation through complex attributive combinations. The ambivalence of the semantics of color is demonstrated through opposite meanings and this allows conclusion that color words are connected with emotional and volitional state of a person, society and that they are perceived in a figurative, non-color, but psychological, emotional meaning and due to this ability they are able to form mental formation in professional field

PROXEMAS’ VERBALIZATION IN FICTIONAL PROSE OF K.D. VOROBYOV

Description
The article is concerned with proxemic communication connected with changing the relative positioning of communicants when interacting, in fictional prose of K.D. Vorobyov. This essential part of interaction is implied with the individual author’s approach to verbal representation of corresponding features and lexis’s choice preferences, its quantitative and qualitative characteristics in the writer’s fictional prose. By analogy with the term paracinema, the term paraproxema is also used for defining these kinds of language phenomena. Paraproxemas were analyzed with reference to semantic, stylistic and morphological aspects. There are two thematic groups of terms with the reference to retract and extend of the relative positioning of communicants being defined in the article. The distribution is based on semantics of verbs and function words. Changing the relative positioning of communicants changes the social zone and reports different information as exemplified with three stories of K.D. Vorobyov. The mutual influence of paracinemas and paraproxemas creates the integrated image of communicants, which gestures, facial expressions, and movements not only accompany but also complete speech

The article examines new-coined place names as a part of a virtual world in the trilogy “The Lord of the Rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien in the translation aspect. The translation of the realities in the fantasy style literature is a complicated problem, as they possess some implicit meaning that makes translating process more difficult. It provides a complex of pragmatic translation strategies for transformation of such linguoculturally marked components of a fiction text, combining the theoretical approach and the writer’s ideas
