10.00.00 Philological sciences
DescriptionThe article describes the characteristic features of British political discourse, its historical development and the formation and characteristics of the British sense of humor. We noted that political humor reflects the mood and attitude of trends in politics. Political discourse has been viewed as socially-oriented communication, which is in the nature of persuasive and compelling communication, dominated by the imperative type of speech, which, in turn, creates preconditions for the implementation of the comic. We have defined defamatory, socially critical, and harmonizing functions. Special attention is paid to the role of the addressee, as the factor, which determines the political communication's aim. We have observed that British politicians use humor carefully so as not to provoke their opponents and dissenters in mocking their use of humor or turning their statements against themselves. The article contains the analysis of illustrative material consisting of quotations of the British political and public figures. English humor can be studied from the point of view of transformational grammar, in which case the jokes are divided into prosaic and poetic ones. Prosaic jokes are based on social and cultural situations, human interactions. Poetical jokes are based on grammatical forms and their irregular usage

Waterflooding helps in the recovery of great amount of oil that would have otherwise been abandoned in the reservoir that is depleted. A reservoir in the Niger Delta, Reservoir X has been used to illustrate this. Reservoir X had oil initially in place as 7.345 MMSTB and was produced for some time with the reservoir natural energy. The remaining oil in the reservoir as at the time that the natural energy of the reservoir was no more sufficient to produce oil was 2.96MMSTB. The reservoir has been left as depleted reservoir with the remaining oil in it. But from the analysis conducted in this work it is seen that if secondary oil recovery project by waterflooding is embarked on the reservoir, part of the remaining abandoned oil would be recovered. With the specifications given, about 1.22MMSTB of the 2.96MMSTB of oil in reservoir X would be produced as at the breakthrough time of 580 days. Moreover, considering the economic aspect of the project, reservoir X and is good to be invested in. From the NPV calculations performed, it is seen that the NPV of reservoir X at discount rate of 10% is $4.13 million

In Nigeria, belt of bituminous sand stretches to the East of Ijebu-Ode (Ogun State) in the district of Siluko and Akotogbo, Okitipupa (Ondo Sate) and Edo State. It covers a distance of approximately 110 km and lies in the upper cretaceous sequence of the Abeokuta formation in the eastern Dahomey Basin. Reserves of bituminous sand in Nigeria is estimated to be around 30- 40 billion barrels with a possibility to extract 3654 × 106 barrels. From the approximately 30-40 billion barrels of oil sand, Ogun State has more than 40% in reserve. However, this huge stock of oil sand in Nigeria is yet to be exploited. This article provides an assessment of technological solutions for the design and development of tar sand fields in Nigeria. Reserves of oil sand in Nigeria are the biggest in the whole of Africa

PURIFICATION OF OILY WASTEWATER BY USING NATURAL AND SYNTHETIC SORBENTS
DescriptionThis article reviews the existing natural and artificial sorbents used for water purification from petroleum and petroleum products. A popular, widely used sorbents and new technologies, such as Versoil sorbent, sorbent based on the waste of olive oil production, sorbent-based waste felting production are considered. There are advantages of the use of a sorbent depends on its cost and the requirements to the quality of purification. There are advantages of the use of a sorbent depends on its cost and the requirements to the quality of purification. Main sorption properties of the most popular at the moment organic and inorganic sorbents are presented in tabular form, which allows them to conduct a comparative analysis. It was concluded, that the most promising sorbents were produced from plant waste

MONUMENTS OF THE FEBRUARY AND OCTOBER REVOLUTION IN THE TERRITORY OF RUSSIA
DescriptionThe article is devoted to the study of the monuments of revolutions of 1917 in Russia. This study specifies that after the final establishment and approval of the Soviet government, the new government realized that it was needed to create a certain basis, namely, its political symbolism as a foundation for the formation of image of the new government. The most important component of this process was the desire of the authorities to the formation of the ideas of the Soviet people about themselves and their place in the world, and, as a consequence, the folding of the foundations of Soviet patriotism, because the new generation who had no idea about the Russian Empire, began its life in the country, which had an ideology, but just started to develop the system of socialist values. The article says that modern youth need to know the history of their country, not to forget about the numerous victims of various wars, to preserve peace and appreciate life

INTENSITY PARAMETERS OF NEODYMIUM IONS IN STRONTIUM TUNGSTATE CRYSTAL
01.00.00 Physical-mathematical sciences
DescriptionIntensity parameters of neodymium ions in doped SrWO4 monocrystals, grown by modified Czochralski method, are calculated. Changes in the values of these parameters when replacing the tungsten atoms W6+ atoms of molybdenum Мo6+ in the matrices SrMeO4 with the scheelite structure due to less screening of the nucleus Мo6+ compared with W6+ are shown
